Author Guidelines

  1. Jurnal Kepariwisataan Indonesia (JKI) is a SINTA 2 accredited journal managed by the Directorate of Strategic Review, Deputy of Strategic Policy, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Republic of Indonesia.
  2. JKI contains scientific papers from research/study results, reviews/conceptual, and policy analyzes related to the tourism sector with a particular emphasis on the Indonesian context and global perspective.
  3. Aims and scope of JKI:
  • Tourism Destinations and Infrastructure, including marine and coastal tourism, sustainable tourism, ecotourism, border tourism, travel patterns, and other topics related to the development of tourism destinations and infrastructure.
  • Tourism Marketing, including marketing communications, tourists’ behaviour and other relevant marketing topics.
  • Tourism Industry and Investment, including tourism business, tourism business technology and information, tourism investment and other relevant topics in tourism industry and investment.
  • Human Resources and Institutions, including Tourism Planning and Policy, Tourism Workforce, Inter-institutional relations, and other topics in relation to human resources and institutions in the tourism.
  1. Manuscripts that will be published in JKI are original scientific papers and have never been published in other journals that have high novelty value and can be used as reference material for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency and related stakeholders in developing the tourism sector.
  2. Writing style guidelines and review list:
  • Title: Writing titles should reflect the essence of the writing, be specific, be effective and does not exceed 15 words
  • Abstract: The abstract contains the purpose, method, results, conclusion, and contribution to the realm of tourism and does not exceed 250 words.
  • Keywords: Writing keywords reflects the concept of the article. Keywords can be words, phrases, or groups of words that reflect the manuscript content. Maximum 5 keywords for manuscript.
  • Introductions: The introduction clearly describes the background of the study, research context, research problems, research gap, research objectives, and state of art/novelty.
  • Methodology: Contain research/study design or research/study design, research/study goals and targets (population and sample), participant/subject/sample, data collection techniques, research/study models, and analysis techniques. The explanation includes at least the types and sources of data as well as and the analytical methods used (including analytical tools).
  • Result and Discussion: Contains the results of data analysis/policy analysis, hypothesis testing, answering research/study questions, findings, and interpreting findings. The results are supported by evidence that is strongly reliable and properly validated. Discussion of the results is based on analysis of data; results are not overstated or overgeneralized. It highlights the results in accordance with the existing literature and previous findings.
  • Conclusion: General description that answers the problems and objectives of the research/study. Suggestions are required in the form of policy recommendations, actual follow-ups, policy implications of the conclusions obtained, and implications for tourism policy in general.
  • Reference: A reference use of literature sources in this journal is at least 25 literature sources with a percentage of minimum 80 percent primary references such as journals (national journals minimum SINTA 3 and/or reputable international journal), proceeding, dissertation, thesis, research books and papers. The references used are quite good (up-to-date (last 10 years). The bibliography writing format used by JKI uses the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition format.
  1. Manuscripts written in English using grammar according to the official language of the United Nations is good and correct.
  2. Manuscripts use:
  • Times New Roman font. The font size is 14 for the title, 12 for the name, 10 for the author's identity, 11 for the main article, 10 for the reference, 9 for the writings in tables, sources of images, and tables.
  • 15; the left margins are 4 cm, the bottom, top, and right margins are 3 cm. Written on A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm).
  • The manuscript maximum 20 pages long, with page numbers on each sheet.
  • All manuscripts submitted are in Microsoft Word format (.doc).

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
